Former Manchester United star and England striker, Wayne Rooney has made a bold claim about senior players at Old Trafford.

Rooney accused senior players in the Red Devils team of playing up their injuries because they don’t want to play for manager Erik ten Hag.

The former football star made this known while reacting to Man Utd’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford, which make it their second consecutive defeat and 14th overall in the Premier League this season.

The result leaves Man United sitting in eighth position and heading towards their worst possible finish in their Premier League history.

In a post-match statement via Sky Sports, Rooney criticised some of the senior players of the squad who are currently out injured.

Rooney claimed a look at the injuries squad at Old Trafford and one would realise some of those players could play 100 percent.

The former Man Utd star suggested that some of the senior players were keeping themselves for European Championship and FA Cup final against Man City scheduled to take place later this month.

Meanwhile, there have calls for a change at Old Trafford ahead of next season, meaning several players could be put up for sale this summer.
