Man Utd: Why Iraola is a perfect replacement for Amorim

Former Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has named the perfect replacement for manager Ruben Amorim at Man Utd as the club continue to struggle this season.

Foster in a recent statement said Andoni Iraola has proven he was the ideal candidate for the Man Utd job.

Recall that the Red Devils splurge over £170 million on new players in recent summer transfer window to sign the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Senne Lammens and Diego Leon.

However, their performance have continued to dip as they remained outside the top 10 on the Premier League and risk relegation this season.

Amorim’s job is on the line as the Red Devils play against Sunderland this weekend.

Several top managers have been considered as Amorim’s replacement, from bookmakers’ favourite Oliver Glasner to former England manager Gareth Southgate.

Now Man United have been credited with an interest in Bournemouth coach Iraola, who has a contract at the Vitality Stadium until 2026.

Foster is confident the Bournemouth manager has what it takes to succeed at Old Trafford.

“Iraola is the one for me. To lose half your squad, half your starting line-up, and then still be just as impressive, for me, that means you’re a proper coach.” Foster said on The Cycling GK podcast.
