“He is not the most valuable player” – Bruno Fernandez shares his thoughts on former United star
Manchester United star midfielder Bruno Fernandez has shared his opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo as he noted that the Juventus forward is not Portugal’s “most valuable player” at this summer’s Euro 2020 championships.
Portugal are tipped as one of the favourites to win the title they won in 2016 with the squad boasting of top players.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo at the age of 36 has continued to defy all odds by banging in goals from all cylinder.
The former Manchester United striker scored two goals in the Portuguese first match against Hungary, a move that showed how important he is for the team.
However, speaking to the Manchester United website ahead of their next match against Germany, Fernandez stated that it is the team’s collective unity that will help them to progress in the tournament.
Fernandez stated that it was down to the training and the skill of the players, and it was a demonstration of what the team can do.
He noted that the team are happy to have won and even better for having scored such a collective goal, it proves that this is what matters.
Fernandez revealed that Ronaldo is influential, as always, he is another one who wants to do his best and is making a difference.
He added that the most valuable player in the national team is the ‘we’. The ‘we’ is the most important, there are many Is, but the ‘us’ is what counts.
