Former Manchester United star gives verdict on Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford
Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has given his verdict on the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo completed a shock move to Manchester United on Friday afternoon after the Red Devils agreed a fee with Juventus.
United also agreed personal terms with Ronaldo and the Portuguese forward completed his move back to Old Trafford 12 years after he left for Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2009.
Rooney who was Ronaldo’s teammate at United while speaking to talkSPORT has now revealed what the move means to the red devils.
The Derby manager stated that for the fans it will be great to see Cristiano back, it’s very exciting for everyone at the club.
Rooney noted that for Ronaldo’s teammates, too, for some of those young lads in the dressing room, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, some of these young lads who have grown up watching him play at Old Trafford.
The former England international insisted that for them it will be a massive help.
According to Rooney, Ronaldo will bring his mentality to the club adding that he’s still one of the best players in the world, so it’s a very good signing.
Ronaldo was reportedly on the verge of moving to Manchester City before he was convinced by Sir Alex Ferguson, his coach at Manchester United.
