Manchester United are set to loan out Daniel James and Phil Jones during the January transfer window as they aim to slim down the team.

It’s been a mixed season for Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been unable to replicate their Premier League form in the Champions League.

Manchester United will be kick-starting their European adventure next year at the Europa League but are willing to let go of Daniel James and Phil Jones who have not been having playing time at the squad.

England International Phil Jones didn’t make the cut for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 25-man Premier League squad this season, while James hasn’t featured in the league since October despite being tipped for greatness when he joined from Swansea.

According to Daily Star, Premier League strugglers West Brom and Championship side Derby County want to sign Jones on loan during the January transfer window

Burnley are also said to be in the fight for the signature of Phil Jones who does not look like a player that will be wearing the United jersey again.

As for Daniel James, the Sun reports that Brighton are keen on bringing in the winger on a temporary deal during the transfer window.

James worked with Seagulls boss Graham Potter at Swansea City and the pair could be reunited on the south coast, a move that might ensure the winger make the Wales team for Euro 2021.

The winger has made just six appearances for Manchester United this season with the likes of Greenwood, Martial ahead of him.
