Carragher reacts to Rangnick’s decision to work on part-time at Man Utd
Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has reacted to the report that Man Utd interim manager Ralf Rangnick would be working part-time at the club once Erik ten Hag takes over at the end of this season.
Carragher said it is complete “nonsense” that the German will be working “part-time” at Manchester United.
Rangnick’s time in charge of Man Utd on an interim basis ends later this month.
Ajax manager, Ten Hag, will take over this summer and Rangnick will move into a consultancy role at Old Trafford.
However, the reports last week, revealed that the German will take charge of the Austria men’s national team on a full-time basis, while also working in a consultancy role at United.
“Ralf Rangnick isn’t really a manager, he’s a director of football, he’s someone who helps the coaches or builds the club.
“I’ll be honest with you, I just don’t get that. I don’t think you can be manager of Austria and work for Manchester United.
“He can work for Manchester United in that role…well that’s wrong. That should not be happening.
“The manager of Austria should not be working part time for Manchester United. That’s just nonsense! It’s one or the other,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
