Another reunion may be on the way at Old Trafford as Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, is set to be interested in signing former Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt.

This comes as a report via Sky Germany disclosed that De Ligt’s future at Bundesliga club Bayern Munich is now in doubt.

With Ten Hag set to extend his contract at Old Trafford, the Dutchman is now focused on assembling his squad ahead of the new season.

One of the areas Ten Hag wants to strengthen is the Red Devils’ defense.

Recall that Man Utd conceded 58 goals last season as they finished outside the top four but managed to win the FA Cup against their neighbours Man City.

With Raphael Varane already out of Man Utd, there are speculations that Jonny Evans could leave this summer as well.

This means the Red Devils will be left with Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez, who were injury-prone in recent seasons.

According to the reports, De Ligt is one of the players Bayern are willing to part ways with this summer as they plot their to rebuild under newly appointed manager Vincent Kompany.
