Chelsea keen to sign Barcelona youngster

Chelsea have risen as the top picks to sign Barcelona prospect Xavier Mbuyamba, as per the player’s agent.

While Mbuyamba has three years left on his contract, it has been recommended that the 18-year-old could move to another prominent club in near future.

Carlos Barros, the defender’s agent, has implied that the Blues are at present ahead of the likes of Real Madrid in the race for the Netherlands Under-19 International.

In an interview with Voetbal International, Barros stated: “Practically all significant clubs in Europe have gotten some information about Xavier.  Real Madrid are also there, they are very serious about their youth system, but that would obviously be a delicate switch.

“Chelsea gave an incredible introduction. There is a novel football environment there. You quickly sit with the primary cooperative people during lunch and the club has sketched out an ambitious plan for Xavier.”

Chelsea seem to be the option because of their youth system.

Mbuyamba made three outing for Barcelona in the UEFA Youth League prior this season.
