Former Real Madrid midfielder, Wesley Sneijder, has criticised two Chelsea players, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana over their performances during the Blues’ Champions League quarter-final first-leg game against the Los Blancos on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid won the game in a 2-0 scoreline at the Santiago Bernabeu, thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio.

But Sneijder in his statement expressed disappointment at Cucurella and Fofana’s display during the match in Spain.

According to former Netherlands star, Cucurella “had no idea” of what to do against Real Madrid while he called Fofana a “waste of money.”

“Who brings in a guy [Cucurella] like that? There are a few more like that running around,” Sneijder said (via Sport Witness).

“That Wesley Fofana, too, recruited for €80million that really is a waste of money. Maybe the pressure is too high at such a big club.”

Chelsea will now hope to turn things around when the host Real Madrid in the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
