Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is focused on his side’s next game against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Ahead of the Gunners’ faceoff against the Reds come weekend, Arteta has given an injury update about his squad.

The Gunners boss hinted that their summer signing Riccardo Calafiori might be unavailable for the match after he picked up a problem during their 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night in the Champions League.

Calafiori seemed to injure his knee in the second half and was unable to continue the match

The Italian defender was replaced by Myles Lewis-Skelly for the rest of the game as Arsenal defeated Shakhtar Donetsk.

In a post-match statement, Arteta also disclosed that the Gunners winger Bukayo Saka is not back in training.

He said Saka is not training yet, so he won’t be available against Liverpool.

“Ricci [Calafiori] felt something and could not stay on. Bit of a worry,” Arteta added.

Arsenal’s next match is a crucial Premier League game against Liverpool at home.

The Gunners who lost to Bournemouth last weekend will hope to defeat the Reds led by manager Arne Slot to remain a title contender this season.
