Winger open to leaving Chelsea in January
Chelsea star Christian Pulisic is said to be open to leaving Stamford Bridge in the soon-to-commence January transfer window.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, the Blues want to hold discussions about his contract after he returns from the World Cup, where he is on international duty for the US.
There has been growing uncertainty over Pulisic’s long-term future especially as he will enter the final 18 months of his Chelsea contract at the turn of the year, with his deal being worth £ 150,000 per week according to Spotrac.
Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with moves for the American star with both clubs said to be monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation.
Spanish sources have revealed that Italian clubs Inter Milan and Juventus are also interested in the Blues winger.
While Chelsea will not consider a loan transfer for the American, he is said to want a permanent transfer from Stamford Bride.
Phillips told GIVEMESPORT: “I think he’s open to leaving. He’s definitely made that clear.
“But, right now, he’s focusing on the World Cup. When he gets back, Chelsea are going to have a conversation with him about the 2024 contract because that’s when it runs out.”
