Why Pochettino is to be blamed for Chelsea loss to West Ham

Former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has shared his take on the club’s defeat to West Ham over the weekend.
Cole in a statement said Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino got a key substitution wrong during the 3-1 defeat against West Ham United.
The Blues were able to score a goal through their midfielder, Carney Chukwuemeka in the first after Nayef Aguerd opened the scoring for West Ham.
In the half-time, Pochettino substituted Chukwuemeka at half-time and brought in Ukrainian, Mykhailo Mudryk as his replacement.
But Cole was not pleased with Pochettino’s decision.
“Maybe the substitution [Carney off, Mykhailo on] caused an issue.
“They [Chelsea] lost a bit of impetus in the game. They were not getting the runs in behind between right-back and centre-back. It was all then too easy for West Ham,” Cole told Sky Sports.
He added, “Pochettino will have understood the context behind the change but I felt they lost a bit of ability to drive beyond and cause West Ham a problem.”
The defeat vs the Hammers means Chelsea now have one point from two matches.
