Why Gallagher may remain at Chelsea amid link to Atletico Madrid

Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has been in the news for the past few days with reports revealed he could be the next Blues player to leave Stamford Bridge.

So far, the English midfielder destination has been reported to be the Spanish  La Liga where he could sign for Atletico Madrid.

However, the recent reports have suggested the transfer may not happen as Gallagher’s proposed move to Atletico Madrid has hit a roadblock.

Popular journalist, Marcos Benito in a report revealed that the move has suffered a setback due to his agent fees.

The west London side have reportedly agreed a €40 million deal to sell the midfielder to Atletico Madrid this summer, with personal terms also agreed.

With the England international now in the final year of his contract with Chelsea, he is said to be reluctant to sign a new deal.

Recall that Gallagher was billed to travel to Spain for his medical with the La Liga giants this week.

However, with the look of things the transfer is stuck due to his agent’s commission demands.
