Gareth Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has showered encomium on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for the impact he has had on the Premier League.

Roman Abramovich arrived at Chelsea in 2003 following his purchase from Ken Bates.

He pumped hundreds of millions into the club and this has seen them become one of the most valuable clubs in Europe.

Barnett has now insisted that the arrival of Abramovic helped turn around the financial worries in English football.

Speaking with the Mirror on the Chelsea chief, Barnett stated that Abramovich has done a great job.

He noted that when Abrahimovic came in, Chelsea were going broke, the league was struggling, he put money into Chelsea, gave money to other clubs and transformed the game and you could have the same in the Championship but for these rules.

Not ready to hide how he feels about Abramovich, Barnett added that The Russian-Israeli businessman and politician was the best thing to ever happen to the Premier League.

He noted that because of Abramovich, it’s now the best league in the world and yet it’s a terrible trait in England that we build things up to knock them down.

This season has seen him bring in Thomas Tuchel to replace Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
