Why Cavani and this player could leave Old Trafford this summer

Manchester United have been able to rise from their numerous defeats at the start of this season to become one of the clubs in the top four.

However, the Red Devils may be in for some tough time as Edison Cavani could be on his way out of the club for another club in the summer transfer window.

This is because his present contract will expire this summer.

The only option that will be left for the Red Devils will be to extend his contract till the summer window in 2022.

Aside from Cavani, another Man Utd player on his way out is Juan Mata, who has four months left on his current contract.

United still have not decided on whether they will take the option to extend the pair’s contracts by one more season, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Like Cavani, Mata has a clause in his contracts that can be triggered to allow him to stay at Old Trafford until the summer of 2022.

However, we believe Cavani is likely to get an extension ahead of Mata as the former has made a fine start to life in England, while Mata has fallen down the pecking order under coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
