Atletico Madrid midfielder and Spain international, Niguez Saul who is currently on loan at Chelsea, is finding it hard to make it to the Blues first team.

However, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in a recent statement, has revealed what Saul would have to do to make it to the first team.

Tuchel urged the midfielder to work hard in order to force his way into the first XI following a disappointing start to his loan period at Stamford Bridge.

Recall that Saul, 26, joined the current European Champions on transfer deadline day but has struggled to secure a regular first-team spot since his poor performance against Aston Villa in both the Premier League and Carabao Cup.

Saul has seen his starting chance grown tougher, especially with the re-emergence of Ruben Loftus-Cheek at the midfield.

Apart from Ruben, Saul also has the likes of N’golo Kante and Jorginho to compete with for a spot.

“Particularly about Saul, he was very, very close to start today. In the end I decided against him because I thought to put him in another high pressing match, an opponent pressing so high in the centre of the pitch, would it be fair to say ‘okay, now prove it and let’s see if your adaption has gone further’ and I hesitated a little bit,” Tuchel said in a post-match statement.
