United legend issues stern warning to the club ahead of Lukaku’s arrival at Chelsea

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has issued a strong warning to his former club ahead of Romelu Lukaku’s return to the Premier League.

Lukaku is set to complete a £97.5million move to Chelsea from Inter Milan just two seasons after he was allowed to leave Manchester United.

Despite scoring 42 goals in 96 appearances across two seasons for the United, Lukaku was allowed to leave in a £74m transfer to Inter Milan in 2019.

Ferdinand has now insisted that Romelu Lukaku will use those who doubted him at Manchester United as fuel to take the Premier League by storm at Chelsea.

Ferdinand while speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel on Monday stated that he has spoken to Lukaku recently and he’s hungry.

The former United defender noted that Lukaku hasn’t confirmed to him that he’s signing for Chelsea but he just said this season, he’s hungry.

Ferdinand noted that he just think this guy, a lot of greatness comes through having fuel, meaning by that is having doubters and wanting to prove them wrong.

According to Ferdinand, Lukaku got a whole stadium full at Manchester United who doubted him, all the fanbase at Old Trafford doubted him, a lot of people weren’t too dissatisfied when he left.

He will be sitting there and looking in the diary to see when that Old Trafford game is and he will want to unload.

Ferdinand added that Romelu Lukaku guarantees you 20 goals, minimum.
