UCL: Why Barcelona must defend against this Chelsea target when they play Napoli

Spanish club Barcelona manager Xavi has stated that his side must do everything possible to stop Victor Osimhen and other Napoli forwards in their UEFA Champions League clash.

The Catalans will be the guests of Napoli in the Round of 16 first-leg tie at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday.

Chelsea target Osimhen is expected to be available in the starting line-up for the Naples after missing last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Genoa.

Xavi supposed that it is fundamental for his side to defend well in the game.

“It is fundamental that we defend well against Napoli, not allowing Politano, Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia to hurt us in the transitions. They are players who can make the difference,” the Spaniard told a press conference.

“We also know that the second leg is at home, so need to be a little more cautious. We will try to defend in possession, though I imagine Napoli will aim to do the same, especially under a new coach. It’s going to be a complicated match.”
