Chelsea manager Graham Potter in a recent statement applauded Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti ahead of their Champions League quarter-final meeting.

The Blues were paired against the La Liga side in Friday’s quarter-finals draw.

Potter while addressing the press ahead of their Premier League clash with Everton on Saturday said Ancelotti’s achievements are incredible.

The Englishman said his side are focusing on taking the games as they come to finish in the top four.

Speaking on their top-four bid, he said: “Where we are now is to focus on Everton, there are three points that are up for grabs against a tough team – a team that are on the up for sure. That’s all that we can focus on, we can’t worry about May or June.”

On facing Ancelotti, Potter added: “I’ve played against him when he was at Everton. He is a gentleman and there’s nothing I can say in terms of the respect I have for what he’s achieved in his career.

“I think the length of time he’s had between Champions League wins – twenty years – that is incredible.”
