Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has applauded his players’ confidence after their recent victory over FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.

The Red Devils won the game thanks to a goal from defender Harry Maguire, while Andre Onana kept out Jordan Larsson’s stoppage-time penalty.

Man Utd will now have to focus on their next game against their rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, as they look to build on their recent momentum.

Ten Hag believes his players are also beginning to see the results on the pitch, which helps with the all-round cohesion.

“Players are stepping up and getting their markers into the season,”

Ten Hag said in his post-match press conference.

“From there, they get the belief, as you have seen with Harry Maguire and Andre Onana.

“I think there are others with good performances. If we produce that and go from game to game, we can create something.”

The win against FC Copenhagen is Man Utd’s first victory in the Champions League this season.
