UCL: Haaland breaks record as Man City thrash RB Leipzig 7-0
Manchester City returned to action on Tuesday night in the Uefa Champions League where they faced RB Leipzig.
Erling Haaland put up an impressive form for Man City as he broke a record to become the youngest player to score 30 goals in the Champions League.
Haaland scored five goals as the Citizens defeated RB Leipzig in a 7-0 scoreline at the Etihad.
The Norwegian’s third goal was his 30th in the competition, a tally he reached in just 25 matches and at 22 years and 236 days.
Kylian Mbappe previously held that record at 22 years and 352 days.
This places the pair way ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who got his 30 in 48 games.
The Norwegian striker has also become just the third player to score five goals in a single Champions League game, and broke City’s record for the most goals scored in a single season.
