Tuchel speaks on why Chelsea lost to Everton

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has explained why Everton defeated his side 1-0 in a Premier League tie at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Tuchel stressed that the Toffees defeated the Blues because his team made a mistake during the encounter, adding that the host also got away with a lot during the match.

Recall that a mistake from Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta gave Richarlison an opportunity to score the lone goal during the match to give Frank Lampard’s men all three points against the Blues.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, the German said: “They got away with a lot and the referee decided to manage the game how he did.

“I was not too happy with it, but that is why it’s important not to do big mistakes, to give belief, and to keep doing what we do on the highest level.

He added: “If there is something I could do, I will try it. The key for me is to have a clean sheet. It’s a different game against Man United, the game was more open and there were more chances.”
