Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has opened up on the Blues deal for Jules Kounde amid new reports linking him to Spanish club Barcelona.

Tuchel said there are no updates on Chelsea’s deal for the French defender.

The German made this known when he was speaking after the Blues” 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in Florida, US.

So far, Chelsea have signed only Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly from Man City and Napoli, respectively, to their and were hoping to make Kounde the third.

With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen joining the Spanish side Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively this summer, Tuchel is keen on signing a second defender.

And Kounde had emerged as their next target, but Chelsea seems to be losing him to Barcelona, who are said to be his favourite.

Tuchel said: “Koundé deal? I’ve no update.
