Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has taken the side with newly-signed striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his lifestyle.

Tuchel, in a recent statement, while responding to those judging the striker by his dress sense and love of fast cars insisted he would perform at Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang, who arrived on deadline day from Barcelona, didn’t play for Chelsea in their Saturday’s Premier League win against West Ham.

But Tuchel hinted his former Borussia Dortmund hitman could make his debut for the Blues when they face Zagreb on Tuesday in the Uefa Champions League.

“He was the kind of fancy personality that everybody wanted to talk about and this is also nice, no?.

“Not everybody has to dress in dark blue with a boring cap! You can have a nice haircut and a fancy car.

“It’s a problem in judging people very, very fast, looking at this car or that, and suggesting someone is unprofessional.

“Maybe he’s just a bit more crazy than us. And this is very fine because you need to be a bit outside the box to be special on the field.

“So for the amount of goals he scored, for the amount of attention he got, he was a very, very well-behaved number nine at Dortmund and I have no doubt he will be here too,” Tuchel said.
