Chelsea to finalize the transfer of Timo Werner
Chelsea are purportedly close to finalizing the paper work associated with the transfer of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
On Thursday night, it was generally detailed that the Blues had initiated the player’s release clause, said to be around £54m.
In any case, RB Leipzig sporting director Oliver Mintzlaff has denied that there is any understanding set up with Chelsea, who need to officially meet the necessary fee by June 15.
The Premier League outfit apparently stay in line to sign the 24-year-old, however, with Sky Sport writer Fabrizio Romano proposing that there has been no blip all the while.
On Twitter, Romano stated: “No agreements traded and nothing formally signed as RB Leipzig executive told today, but Chelsea have a ‘verbal agreement with’ Timo Werner and they’re persuaded he’s headed to Stamford Bridge for next season. Administrative matters are practically prepared.”
Timo Werner has delighted in an exceptional season, contributing 29 goals and 10 assists in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
