Transfer Deal: Good news for Chelsea as target’s price tag is slashed by current club
Chelsea’s pursuit for Declan Rice from West Ham United have been given a huge boost as the Premier League club are ready to slash him price offer.
Declan Rice has become one of the most sought after talents in the Premier League as he’s been putting in impressive performance under David Moyes.
The England international has been linked with top clubs in the league but Chelsea have been tipped as the favourite because he was once in the club youth system.
West Ham were not able to agree on a price with any club last season as they were holding out for close to £80m but the Hammers seem to have changed their mind on the price tag.
They are now willing to reduce the price due to the loss that most clubs have faced due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
According to 90 min, the Hammers will settle for a far lower amount in the next window as they are willing to let go of Rice before he losses form and see his price tag depreciate.
The deal is also set to be a smooth transition as Rice’s father Sean is rumoured to have taken over as the midfielder’s agent and clubs will have to deal directly with him should they match West Ham’s valuation.
Rice has been ever present in West Ham midfield this season and has been able to help the Hammers in their quest for top ten finish.
