Chelsea have been handed a transfer boost in the person of Wesley Fofana after they finally reached an agreement with Leicester City.

The reports revealed the Foxes have finally accepted Chelsea’s fourth bid for the defender after their third bid of around £60m was rejected earlier this week.

A report via The Athletic revealed that a breakthrough has been made, although the transfer fee has not been made public.

This is coming after Fofana was banished from Leicester City’s first team for their game against Southampton last weekend.

He is also expected not to be available for this weekend’s meeting with Chelsea after he tried to force himself out of the King Power Stadium.

Fofana will leave the Foxes before the end of the transfer window as Chelsea are keen on adding another defender following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively.

The Blues have already signed Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly earlier this summer.
