Time to sign Onana’s replacement: Man Utd told to sign this goalkeeper

Former Chelsea goalkeeper, Mark Schwarzer has encouraged Manchester United to consider a move for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as a replacement for Andre Onana.

Schwarzer believes that Ramsdale has better quality than Man United’s current first-choice keeper.

He also opined that the England goalie will be an excellent signing for the Red Devils in the ongoing January transfer window.

Ramsdale lost game time in Arsenal squad following David Raya’s arrival on a season-long loan deal from Brentford last summer.

Onana, on the other hand, has repeatedly made some costly errors for Man United and he is set to leave for Cameroon for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

“But if he didn’t go to Chelsea, where else is there for Ramsdale? There is Manchester United, which I think would also be an excellent destination for him,” Schwarzer told Optus Sport.

“He is far better than Andre Onana in my opinion, but probably not in Erik ten Hag’s opinion, as he will most likely stick with his summer signing given how much he has backed him through his early struggles at Old Trafford so far.”
