Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, in a recent statement, has claimed Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford were not at their best during their 3-1 defeat at Manchester City on Sunday.

The game started with Man Utd looking like a potential winner after Rashford opened the scoring at the Etihad.

However, goals from Phil Foden (twice) and Erling Haaland saw the Red Devils lose all three points to the Premier League champions.

After the game, Ten Hag told Sky Sports: “We had two players on the pitch who were not 100% [fit].

Jonny Evans and Marcus Rashford, but they gave everything like the whole team and we are disappointed with the score.”

Rashford and Evans were taken off in the second half and Ten Hag added: “I don’t know, they had to come off, but I preferred to keep them [Rashford and Evans] on as the organisation was very good.”

Man United are in the sixth spot on the EPL table with 44 points from 27 fixtures.
