Summer window: Five players Chelsea could sign for Maresca
Chelsea are said to be closing in on a new deal for Enzo Maresca, who could be the next manager at Stamford Bridge.
Recall that the Blues parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino on mutual consent a few days ago and have since been on the move to sign a replacement ahead of the summer window.
Once a deal for Maresca is done, Chelsea will be in the race to sign new players for their new manager as they hope to build the team.
In his Daily Briefing, popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggested that Chelsea will be faced with a busy summer.
The Blues are tipped to sign at least five new players in the summer transfer window as they target goalkeeper, centre-back, winger and striker signings.
According to Romano, Maresca ‘will be involved’ in the Blues’ summer spree as he becomes the fifth coach to take over the team in less than two years.
The last two years under Todd Boehly’s management, the Blues have spent over £1billion on new signings and are likely to spend cash this summer.
However, to comply with Financial Fair Play rules Chelsea are likely to sell some players, with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Trevor Chalobah rumoured to have been put up for sale.
