Chelsea summer signing Raheem Sterling was in action for the Blues during their UCL game vs RB Salzburg in their second match in the UCL.

While former coach Thomas Tuchel had played Sterling as a false nine, new manager Graham Potter during his debut for the Blues on Wednesday night chose to play Sterling at the left back wing.

This saw Sterling scoring the lone goal for Chelsea before the visitors scored an equaliser and ended up sharing the points with the EPL sides.

Speaking on the new role under Potter, Sterling said he enjoyed it and believes over time he would get better.

He said, ‘I played in a slightly different role under the new manager, and it is one I enjoyed playing, out wide. Over time, I will get better,’ Sterling said post-match.

‘I am happy to play along the front line but he wanted me out wide, getting at the full-back, getting in the box and creating chances. The more time under him [Potter] I think the better it will be for us,’ he added.
