Shakhtar Donetsk Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Serhiy Palkin has opened up on the warning he gave to Chelsea about signing Mykhailo Mudryk from the Ukrainian club in the winter transfer window.

According to Palkin, there are no regret about the player’s move to the EPL as he stressed that there is also no surprise about his underwhelming start at Chelsea.

Recall that Mudryk was linked with moves to Arsenal before Chelsea joined the race and went on to sign in a deal worth over eighty-nine million pounds.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge Mudryk is yet to impress despite making nine appearances so far.

However, Palkin revealed he met the Ukrainian last week and confirmed the player remains in high spirits.

He told Sky Sports: “A week ago in England, I met Mykhailo Mudryk and he is very happy.

“I said from the beginning, I spoke to the owners of Chelsea, and I told them you’ve got a real diamond but you should be very, very patient. Give this guy time and he will show you what he can bring to the club.”
