Russian club speaks on the future of Chelsea-owned winger, Victor Moses
Russian club Spartak Moscow has released a statement concerning the future of Chelsea winger Victor Moses who is currently on loan at the club.
Victor Moses was surplus to requirement at Chelsea under Frank Lampard and had to seek for a greener pasture joining the Russian heavyweight club in October 2020 for a loan fee of 300,000 euros and a purchase clause set at five million euros at the end of the season.
With Thomas Tuchel taking over from Frank Lampard at Chelsea, it does not look like he still has a future at Chelsea and Spartak Moscow have insisted that they will make a decision on whether to trigger the purchase clause at the end of the 2020-2021 season, after consulting with the club’s head coach.
Spartak Moscow’s Public Relations officer Fetisov while speaking to Sport Express stated that so far they have not discussed the possible redemption of Victor Moses.
He noted that the head coach will decide on the winger and it’s too early to talk about it.
Fetisov added that the club will raise the issue of the purchase only at the end of the season.
Victor Moses who is currently with the Spartak Moscow squad at their winter training camp in Dubai has scored one goal in nine appearances for the club.
The former Nigeria international has previously enjoyed loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham United, Fenerbahce and Inter Milan.
He played an important role under Antonio Conte at Chelsea winning the Premier League title.
