It is no longer news that Chelsea defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger is on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge.

Rudiger, whose current contract will lapse at the end of this season, has been linked to Spanish club Real Madrid and French club Paris Saint Germain PSG.

The reports claimed that PSG had already made contact with Rudiger’s agent in a bid to beat the Los Blancos to his signature.

On the other hand, Real Madrid are the favourites to sign the 28-year-old German defender on a free transfer next summer, having held positive talks with him.

But PSG hopes to hijack any potential transfer and have already held talks with his agent and brother, Sahr Senesie, according to Diario AS.

Starting from January 1st 2022, Rudiger will be free to sign a pre-contract with any interested club.

Aside from Real Madrid and PSG, German club Bayern Munich and EPL side Manchester United are also monitoring the situation on Rudiger’s contract at Stamford Bridge.

As of now, Chelsea’s negotiations with Rudiger remain stalled as the defender wants a new wage of £200,000 per week from his current £90,000-per-week salary.

The reports claimed Rudiger had earlier turned down an offer of £140,000 per week already from Chelsea.
