Ahead of the second leg of their UCL match against Chelsea in Spain on Tuesday, Real Manager Carlo Ancelotti has given the latest update about his squad.

This comes after Real Madrid defeated Getafe over the weekend in a 2-0 scoreline.

Ancelotti didn’t use some of his key players like Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal, and Ferland Mendy against Getafe, who started against Chelsea.

Mendy, in particular, had a minor fitness issue but will be available for Tuesday’s second-leg match against Chelsea, according to Ancelotti.

“He [Mendy] had an overload, and we preferred not to risk it,” the Italian said after the Getafe win (via Real Madrid’s official website).

“At the last minute, we [also] had a problem with Mariano [Diaz].

“Apart from [Eder] Militao (who is suspended for the second leg), I think everyone can be in the Chelsea game aside from [Eden] Hazard, who is recovering from his operation.”

Real Madrid also confirmed that Mendy and Luka Jovic still trained separately from the rest of the group in Sunday’s training session.

The Los Blancos have the edge over Chelsea, having emerged winners in the first leg of the tournament at Stamford Bridge last week.
