Premier League side eager to sign Chelsea midfielder on a permanent deal
Premier League side Aston Villa are reportedly ready to make the deal of Ross Barkley permanent due to his hard work and good performance ever since he joined.
Ross Barkley was surplus to the requirement under Frank Lampard at Chelsea and it wasn’t surprising when the England international was loaned out to Aston Villa.
The former Everton midfielder has been showing his class under Dean Smith as he has contributed four goals and one assist in 15 appearances in all competitions.
Aston Villa’s top hierarchy are now pleased with his performance and are ready to sign him permanently.
According to 90min, Aston Villa are prepared to bid for him once his current deal expires and the report claims Chelsea could be prepared to sell Barkley for a fee in the region of £40m.
Though Thomas Tuchel has not revealed if the England international is among his Chelsea plan but he might not be willing to go back as he has become a prominent figure in the Aston Villa team.
Barkley has 86 appearances for Chelsea and has scored 11 times with the attacker’s contract with the London club due to run until the summer of 2023.
There are limited chances if Tuchel will want him back at Stamford Bridge anytime soon.
