Premier League pundit reveals why Chelsea signings struggling to adapt under Frank Lampard
Chelsea woes continued on Sunday night as they were battered by Manchester City who were missing five of their first team players.
Manchester City came into the game days after suffering from Covid-19 outbreak in their squad but they put in an impressive performance that would delight any manager.
Despite bringing in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Eduardo Mendy amidst others during the transfer window, Frank Lampard has failed to compete with the other top teams.
Speaking on why some of the big signings made by Frank Lampard has failed to hit the ground running, Pundit Stephen Warnock noted that it’s because of the difficult pandemic we are currently in.
Speaking about the summer signings on Sky Sports, Warnock said that Chelsea are obviously having a very tough time of late as the best player they’ve signed this year didn’t cost a penny in Thiago Silva.
He stated that a manager do get judged on their signings and how quickly they can adapt to situations they found themselves.
Warnock who was skeptical of Frank Lampard’s selection stated that it’s a very difficult time for players to settle in though as they can’t go out in the streets.
He added that it must be a very lonely time and a difficult time for the new signings, however, players at different clubs have adapted to the situation.
