Chelsea’s new manager Graham Potter, who replaced Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge in September will be leading the Blues to his first match as their coach against Crystal Palace this weekend.

It has been 23 days since Potter arrived at Chelsea and the delay for a first league game mid-season which was caused by Queen Elizabeth’s death is over.

When Potter was asked if the delay had been a good or bad thing said it was both as it was a time of knowing people.

He said ‘Probably a bit of both.’

‘We’ve used the time to get to know people in an environment where there aren’t games. At the same time we’re itching to go and play. That’s when you learn a lot and make progression.

‘We couldn’t control everything in terms of how it’s panned out with the cancellations, so we’ve just had to make the most of it and now we’re looking forward to starting.’
