Potter gives updates on Silva, Mendy and Kante ahead of game vs Leeds United

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has given the latest update on Thiago Silva, Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta ahead of their Premier League clash vs Leeds United this weekend.

All of the players above will miss the match when Chelsea host Leeds at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Potter said: “Thiago will be around that time, not sure exactly. Mendy is making progress. N’Golo had his first full session today but still needs time.

“Mason has had a problem with a lower abdomen area and tomorrow is too soon for him.

“Reece has a tightness in his hamstring; we are assessing him, but he is doubtful for tomorrow as well. Azpi has made progress but is not through protocols after a head injury like that.”

Meanwhile, the game against Leeds United is an essential win for Potter, especially as another defeat could kick him out of Chelsea.
