Pochettino wants this winger to stay at Chelsea
Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, who has been tipped as favourite to emerge as Chelsea’s next manager has been naming some players he hopes to work with at Stamford Bridge.
One of them is American winger Christian Pulisic, who Pochettino has reportedly told the club hierarchy not to sell amid rumours linking him with moves to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
The reports claimed Pochettino wants Pulisic to remain at Chelsea.
A report via CM reported that Pochettino has told Chelsea that he wants Pulisic in the team for next season.
This is a transfer blow for the Magpies who were reported in February to be keen on signing the £150,000-a-week Pulisic in the summer transfer window.
As it stands, Pulisic despite his injuries and limited playing chances may still have some roles to play at Stamford Bridge once Pochettino takes over from interim manager Frank Lampard, who has also struggled to impress, losing 5 of 5 games since his takeover.
