Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has applauded Premier League champions and toppers Manchester City after their weekend game at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino in a post-match statement after Chelsea’s 4-4 Premier League draw with Man City on Sunday named the Citizens as the best team in the world.

While Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, and Cole Palmer scored for Chelsea, Erling Haaland, Manuel Akanji, and Rodri ensured Man City drew the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Despite playing a draw, Pochettino also said he was proud of his players for their performances against Man City.

“Very proud, so happy. I think the players deserve full credit. We face the team that for me, is the best team in the world,” Pochettino said.

“Too many circumstances that happen to make me proud. Still need to improve. It is the process when you want to build a project, build a journey. This type of experience will improve our team and now we need to use and translate to the future.”
