One Chelsea player that appeared in Uefa Champions League team of the week

Chelsea midfielder and Italy international Jorginho is the only Blues player to appear on the Uefa Champions team for the week.

This was made known by UEFA on Thursday as it named its Champions League team of this week.

The names were released via a post on Uefa’s website following the conclusion of the group stage, match-day three fixtures on Wednesday night.

Aside from Jorginho, other EPL players that made the list were Liverpool’s striker Mohammed Salah and Man City’s Riyad Mahrez.

Jorginho and Salah were impressive for their respective clubs against Malmo and Atletico Madrid during the midweeks game.

Noah Okafor (Salzburg)
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Forward:
Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid)

Jorginho also made the 30-man list nominated to win the Ballon d’Or for this year.

The Italian midfielder has been tipped as one of the favourites to win the prestigious awards after winning the UCL trophy with Chelsea last season and his impact on the Italian national team.
