Former Chelsea star, Chris Sutton has shared his take on Manchester United’s newest signing Rasmus Hojlund as he expressed concern over his form at Old Trafford.

According to Sutton, Hojlund could struggle to impress at his new club as he insisted that he doesn’t have Manchester City striker Erling Haaland’s goalscoring record.

This is coming after Man United completed a move for Hojlund from Atalanta in a bid worth £72 million.

Last season, the 20-year-old striker scored nine league goals in 32 appearances for Atalanta.

“A lot has been made about this signing, over £70million all-in-all. Looking at his record, it is not like Haaland signing for Manchester City, where he signed for them with a real goalscoring pedigree,” Sutton told Mail Sport’s all new podcast.

“He was at Copenhagen, went to Austria with Sturm Graz for a season, was not overly prolific there, then Atalanta and he did not get into double figures. Nine goals in 30-odd games. That is not an incredible strike rate as such.

“I’m not saying they have wasted their money, but it is not going to help him going into a club where the eyes will be on him, to go and start banging the goals in and he’s got an injury.”
