Chelsea new captain makes promises

Chelsea’s new captain Reece James has made promises has was handed the club’s captaincy band ahead of the new season.

James emerged as the Blues’ new captain after Cesar Azpilicueta who left the club this summer for Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

The new captain in a post via his Instagram account vowed to do everything he can to help lead the Blues in the right direction, back to where they belong and win titles.

He wrote, “Captain of Chelsea. A real honour and proud moment for me and my family.

“This club is all I’ve known for the past 17 years. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who has helped me on the journey to achieve this.

“The role is new to me, but I’ll do everything I can to help lead our club in the right direction. Back to where we belong. Winning titles. See you at the Bridge on Sunday.”
