No player is more important than the club – Owen slams Lukaku
Former England international and football star Michael Owen has joined numerous football lovers to react to the situation at Chelsea between Thomas Tuchel and Romelu Lukaku.
Owen, in his statement, applauded Tuchel for dropping out Lukaku from the Blues game vs Liverpool on Sunday, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The former English star criticised Lukaku’s decision to call out Chelsea and Tuchel’s style of football.
The English man, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, said no player is more important than the club.
Owen tweeted: ‘If reports are accurate, it’s a huge decision from Tuchel to leave Lukaku out of today’s @ChelseaFC squad. But in the long term interests of the club, it’s a good one.
“No player is more important than the club and while being employed by someone, you can’t speak out like he has.”
There are reasons to believe Lukaku could force a move back to the Italian Seria A, where he could rejoin Inter Milan in the ongoing January transfer window.
This comes as Lukaku has already put Inter Milan on his social media bio instead of Chelsea, where he currently plays.
