Newcastle’s Interest in Madueke Could Pave Way for Chelsea’s Alexander Isak Transfer

Chelsea has been actively exploring options to strengthen their attack, considering several forwards, including Jhon Duran and Jonathan David.
Alexander Isak, Newcastle’s star striker, also emerged as a potential target. Following a stellar season where Isak scored 25 goals, his valuation soared to around £200 million, making any deal seem unlikely due to the steep financial demands.
Arsenal, too, showed interest in the Swedish international, but the high price tag was a significant barrier.
Newcastle’s financial pressures, particularly around profit and sustainability rules, led to a flurry of player sales.
During this period, Chelsea inquired about Isak, but Newcastle maintained a firm stance on his price, leading Chelsea to shift their focus elsewhere, notably towards Samu Omorodion.
Chelsea successfully negotiated with Atletico Madrid to sign Omorodion for half of his initial £70 million asking price.
This deal was facilitated by Conor Gallagher’s move to Atletico for £33.7 million, establishing a strong line of communication between the clubs.
Now, with Newcastle reportedly interested in Madueke, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea might have an opportunity to negotiate a deal involving Isak.
While Madueke is still part of Chelsea’s project, a strong proposal from Newcastle could change that, potentially opening the door for Chelsea to make a move for Isak.
Additionally, Chelsea remains in discussions over a loan deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, as Romelu Lukaku continues to be linked with a move to the Italian club.
With Osimhen’s exclusion from Napoli’s squad for the upcoming season, there is hope that a deal could still be reached, adding further firepower to Chelsea’s attack.
