Napoli manager reacts as Chelsea target scores
Napoli manager Rudi Garcia has applauded Victor Osimhen’s recent goal for the club despite the recent controversial TikTok video drama.
Garcia in a post-match statement stressed that Osimhen has continued to give his best to the Italian club.
Osimhen trended online after he reacted to a video posted on Napoli’s TikTok account this week mocking him for missing a penalty in last weekend’s 0-0 draw at Bologna.
The 24-year-old forward who was linked to Chelsea in the summer also had an argument on the touchline with Garcia after he was substituted late in the game.
Despite the negativity, Osimhen scored and also created an assist in the Serie A champions’ 4-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday night.
According to Garcia, Osimhen is concentrated on the club and will always do his best on the pitch.
“We talked after Bologna, we were all frustrated and angry because we did not get the victory. In these two days there have been some clumsy incidents on social media. I talked to him again and he is concentrated on the pitch,” Garcia was quoted by Football Italia.
“He will give his best for this jersey, we must all be united, and we are. Playing at home is important.”
