Former Manchester United star Andy Cole in a recent statement hit at Antony over his form at the club.

According to Cole, Antony has not produced enough chances for his teammates, adding that the Brazilian international drives him mad.

Recall that Antony moved to Man United from Dutch side Ajax last summer for €100 million on a five-year deal.

The Brazilian has so far failed to justify the money Man Utd paid to sign him. He scored 10 goals and created five assists in 47 appearances across all competitions last season.

But this season has been poor as he is yet to score or create an assist.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Cole said: “He would drive me absolutely mad.

“He’s an individual; we all know he’s very left-footed; he is an individual who never goes to the right-hand side so as a centre-forward if you are making a run to the near post, you know you are never going to get it.”

He continued: “He is going to check back, you are not sure when he is going to put it in the box. He doesn’t score enough goals for me, and he doesn’t create enough chances for his teammates.

“So you look at that and say, ‘Okay, what are you giving?’ That is what you are expecting from him. They have spent a hell of a lot of money on him; the manager’s backed him and he’s found it really, really tough.”
