Man Utd join race for Lille defender
Manchester United are in the race to sign new players in the ongoing January transfer window.
The Red Devils have joined German club Bayern Munich in the race for Lille defender Leny Yoro, according to Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.
Man Utd are said to be keen on bolstering their defensive department as they look towards youthful replacements for their ageing back-line.
So far, Yoro, 18, has attracted the interest from several top clubs in Europe and, with the defender under contract until 2025, Lille may be forced to part ways with the defender to ensure he does not leave as a free agent next year.
There has been little indication that the Frenchman will extend his deal with the Ligue 1 club, which could force the hand of Lille to facilitate an exit. While it is not expected that Yoro will depart in January, the situation looks likely to change for the summer.
