Manchester United returned to action this weekend with a trip to Turf Moor where they faced Burnley in the Premier League.

The Red Devils headed to the match after a defeat to German club Bayer Munich in the Champions League.

They were, however, able to bounce back with a 1-0 win against Burnley thanks to a goal from Bruno Fernandes.

In a statement after the match, former Man Utd star Rio Ferdinand couldn’t help but applauded the club’s defender Johnny Evans who created an assist to the lone goal and impressed in the defence.

Speaking at half-time on TNT Sports, Rio Ferdinand explained that Jonny Evans had impressed him.

He said: “Exquisite pass, he’s led the backline very well today, there was a lot of pressure coming into this game today,”.

Ferdinand continued, “But he’s responded perfectly well, he’s probably been the most calm and assured player on the pitch.”
